Albert Shell Jr., 39, is charged with murder in connection with the shooting at the Paddock Mall.
Police have apprehended the guy they believe is responsible for the death of one person and the injury of another during a “targeted” attack at a Florida mall during the busy holiday shopping season.
Albert Shell Jr., 39, was apprehended by Ocala police officers in coordination with the US Marshals Service, the department said on social media Monday morning.
Ocala Police Department body camera video shows officers bringing a shirtless Shell into custody shortly before 2 a.m. Monday.
His capture culminates a weeks-long manhunt that prompted authorities to offer a $20,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
Shell was wanted in connection with the shooting at Paddock Mall on December 23 that killed David Nathaniel Barron, 40, and injured a lady in the leg.
Several other people were injured inside the mall during the shooting, including one with chest pain and another with a fractured arm, according to authorities.
“This incident has really devastated us. “Our thoughts are with all those involved,” stated WPG, the mall’s corporate manager, in a statement. “The safety of our guests, retailers and employees is our top priority.”

Shell fled the mall following the gunshot, according to police.
Shell is charged with premeditated first-degree murder and attempted premeditated first-degree murder, according to authorities.
A news conference has been scheduled for Monday at 9:30 a.m., during which police will provide additional information about Shell’s arrest.
