According to The News God reports, Jessica Burgess carried out an abortion in violation of the law. This is one of the accusations that have been made against her.
A woman and her daughter from Norfolk, Nebraska are facing criminal charges because they are accused of having an illegal abortion and then burying the fetus that was removed from the woman’s womb after the abortion.
Jessica Burgess, age 41, is accused of assisting her daughter Celeste Burgess in obtaining an abortion earlier this year. According to Celeste’s medical records, she was more than 23 weeks pregnant at the time. Jessica Burgess is accused of doing this while her daughter was pregnant. Celeste is being treated like an adult in court even though she is still a child.
Joseph Smith, the prosecuting attorney for Madison County, is quoted as saying, “I don’t think I’ve ever had a case like this.” Most abortions are done in hospitals by doctors, but this one wasn’t.
