Two persons were killed in a motorbike accident on Virginia’s West Norfolk Bridge on Sunday morning.
The collision happened at 8:00 a.m., according to the Portsmouth Police Department.
The Portsmouth Police Department and the State Police did not reply to a request for information from USA TODAY, but according to local news site WKTR, the motorcyclist hit a barrier.
According to WAVY, the collision catapulted the two riders, who were only identified as an adult man and adult female, into the sea. They were pronounced dead at the spot by medics.
The collision happened on the eastbound side of VA-164. The eastbound lanes of the bridge will remain closed as police try to clean the area, according to Portsmouth police.
The matter will be investigated by the Portsmouth Police Traffic Unit.
