A young child of five years old was among those riding in the golf cart in North Carolina when it overturned and caused their deaths.
The accident took place on Monday evening in North Carolina and involved a car that crashed with a golf cart that was carrying passengers. As a direct result of the collision, two of the people in the golf cart were instantly killed, and four others were injured.
According to the report that was broadcast on The News God, Austin Ray Harmon, 23, was operating a 2009 Honda Accord in Statesville when he allegedly collided with a golf cart that was occupied by five persons at approximately 9:40 p.m.
The information that was supplied in the report indicates that Michael Shane Marlowe, who was 39 years old, and Bentley, who was 5 years old, both passed away as a result of the accident.
Harmon was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in addition to two charges of felony death by vehicle, three counts of criminal severe injury by car, and two instances of felony death by vehicle. Harmon was also charged with three counts of criminal serious injury by vehicle.
