Maurice John Giblin Johnston) is a footballer and coach from Scotland. Johnston, a forward, began his senior football career with Partick Thistle in 1981. In 1983, he joined Watford, scoring 23 league goals and helping the club reach the 1984 FA Cup Final. He joined Celtic in 1984 and scored 72 goals in 128 games while winning the Scottish Cup in 1985 and the Scottish League Championship in 1986. In 1987, Johnston joined Nantes. His presence resurrected their season, and they recovered well to finish in the middle of the table, as he scored 20 goals in just 29 league games.
