A former correctional officer in the state of Kentucky was found guilty of sexually assaulting a prison inmate.
A former correctional officer at the Federal Medical Center in Kentucky was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison for the sexual abuse of prisoners after pleading guilty to the charge of sexual assault of detainees.
Christopher Brian Goodwin, 46, pled guilty in March to the charges of deprivation of rights under color of law as well as three counts of sexual abuse of a minor, as stated in a press statement issued by the office of the United States Attorney.
Goodwin allegedly admitted in the press release that he had sexually assaulted three other inmates over the previous year. According to the statement, another component of Goodwin’s plea agreement was an acknowledgment that he had violated the constitutional rights of another inmate and that the effects of his acts had been harmful to her.
