College career
Malcolm led the Sooners in receiving yards and receptions as a true freshman in 2005. He hauled five catches for a season-best 118 yards against Texas A&M and had a season-high eight receptions against Nebraska. He was the first freshman to lead the team in receptions since 1975 and the fourth overall in OU history.
Malcolm was named to the All-Big 12 and The Sporting News Freshman All-American teams. Additionally, he was named an honorable mention All-Big 12 (Big 12 coaches). Malcolm is ranked No. 5 in freshman receptions and No. 4 in receiving yards at Oklahoma. Malcolm became the fastest player in Oklahoma history to reach 1,000 career receiving yards in his 19th career game.
He tied the school record with 11 receptions against Texas Tech. He had at least 100 receiving yards in five games, with a high of 164 against Middle Tennessee. He was voted Big 12 Championship Game MVP. Malcolm ranked eleventh on the all-time receiving list with 1,464 yards after only two seasons with the Sooners. He has the second-most receiving yards in an OU season, with 993 yards, trailing only Mark Clayton’s 1,425 yards.
Malcolm led Oklahoma to the Big 12 title. Malcolm started the 2007 season strong, receiving over 150 yards in a 79-10 victory over North Texas. A week later, he had 102 yards and three touchdowns on the ground as the Sooners defeated the Miami Hurricanes 51-13. In his junior season, Malcolm finished second on the Sooners with 49 receptions for 821 yards (16.8 average) and nine touchdowns.

Professional College
In the 2008 NFL Draft’s (51st overall) second round, Malcolm was selected by the Washington Redskins. He signed a four-year, $3.36 million contract with a $1.655 million guarantee on July 14. Kelly, however, was out for three of the first five games of his rookie season due to an injury.
In his rookie year, he appeared in only five games, catching three passes for 18 yards. Kelly played only 16 games in 2009, catching 25 passes for 347 yards. Kelly was on injured reserve for the entire 2010 season due to a knee ailment.
