“Roadmap” for supporting Ukraine released by Biden and Macron includes leveraging assets that Russia has frozen.
Following the approval of its Western partners to enable Kyiv to deploy its weaponry for limited attacks inside Russia, Ukraine announced on Sunday that its troops had struck an advanced Russian warplane positioned on an air base some 600 kilometers (370 miles) from the battle lines.
The primary military intelligence agency in Kiev released satellite images that it said depicted the attack’s aftermath.
Should the report be verified, it would be Ukraine’s first known successful attack on a Su-57 fighter aircraft—a twin-engine stealth fighter that is regarded as Moscow’s most cutting-edge combat vehicle.
Moscow refrained from commenting on the claims right away.
It happens as US President Joe Biden promises to back Europe against Russia and declares that Vladimir Putin will not give up on the battle in Ukraine.
As French President Emmanuel Macron greeted Mr. Biden to Paris and the two vowed unity over the ongoing hostilities occurring in Europe and the Middle East, Mr. Biden stated that the president of Russia poses a threat to all of Europe.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, asserted that the Russian army’s attack in Kharkiv, which started about a month ago, has been unsuccessful. According to him, Ukrainian soldiers are making every effort to “restrain” their advance.
