Manchester City and Arsenal played a 2-2 draw thriller at the Etihad on Sunday.
Pep Guradiola’s side took the lead in the 9th minute through Erling Haaland, who scored his 10th Premier League goal of the season and 100th Manchester City career goal. Arsenal pulled level in the 22nd minute through a stunning long-range curling shot from summer signing Riccardo Calafiori, before Gabriel put the Gunners ahead through a power header in the 45th minute.
However, Arsenal’s chances of a famous win r at the Etihad to go top of the Premier League narrowed when Leandro Trossard was sent off for his second yellow card after kicking the ball away and delaying the restart after a foul on Bernardo Silva. After failing to break the resilient Arsenal defence in a dominant second-half display, Manchester City finally got their equalizer in the 98th minute after John Stones bundled from a close range after David Raya saved Mateo Kovacic’s shot outside the box to maintain Manchester City’s five matches unbeaten start to the season.

The result means Manchester City are top of the Premier League with 13 points, followed by Liverpool with 12 points and Arsenal with 11.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool are the top three teams in the Premier League, but Manchester City is better of the three and is on course for a historic five-title run.
Asked for his take on the Premier League title race after the Manchester City and Arsenal 2-2 draw at the Etihad, Jamie Carragher said on a Sky Sports podcast: “I think it will be similar to last season where Liverpool are just slightly behind these two teams.
“By next season, they could be really improving and maybe looking to go for it when the manager knows everything about his squad.
“Remember he hasn’t really bought anymore. It’s still last season’s team and I still think they’re the third-best team in the league.
“Looking at the two teams we watched today, I still just think Man City have got a little bit more. When I look at the squads and the attacks… Kevin de Bruyne didn’t play today.
“They’ve got a bit more in the attacking areas, I think they’ve got a bit more. I just think Man City have the edge.”
For neutral fans, the idea of Manchester City winning five consecutive Premier League titles will make it less competitive and boring. They will enjoy having Liverpool or Arsenal crowned Champions.
However, Manchester City’s squad, financial prowess, and the icing on the Cake—Pep Guardiola still in charge—suggest that the Citizens are just eight months away from being crowned Premier League champions.
