There are reports that Chelsea are interested in Christopher Nkunku and Rafael Leao.
On Monday, there were reports in Germany that Christopher Nkunku had undergone secret medicals regarding a potential move to Chelsea next season. According to the report, The French international has agreed on personal terms with the blues.
Chelsea are prepared to pay his £60 million release clause, which becomes active next summer beating a lot of European clubs.
The blues are also interested in AC Milan Talisman Rafael Leao. The Portuguese international was voted the Serie A most valuable player last season after helping AC Milan win their first scudetto in 10 years.
Chelsea were rumored to have bid for the 23-year-old in the summer but couldn’t meet AC Milan’s £150 million valuation of Rafael Leao.
What did Graham Potter say about Christopher Nkunku and Rafael Leao?
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League game with AC Milan: Asked about an update on Chelsea deal with Christopher Nkunku, Potter said: “As I’ve said before, my answer is that I don’t speak about players that are Chelsea players. If you want to ask about Chelsea players, I am happy to speak about them. It was the same at Brighton. You get linked with a lot of players and there are a lot of names out there.
“And you can imagine it gets escalated when you’re at a club like Chelsea. But I will speak about Chelsea players and not comment on anyone else.”
Rafael Leao could face his next club when AC Milan faces Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Asked if Rafael Leao has the quality to play in the Premier League, the 47-year-old added: “I’ve been really impressed with him whenever I’ve watched the games. He is making a
The difference for AC Milan and is contributing to how they attack and score goals. So congratulations to him for that.
“He is a top player. In terms of what happens in the future, who knows whether he can do this or not? He has the capability for sure from what I’ve seen because he is affecting the game at the highest level against top opponents.”
Todd Boehly and his people are already working on improving the Chelsea squad after spending £280 million in just the just-ended summer transfer.
Asked whether he is happy that the owners are working hard to improve the squad, Graham Potter said: “The guys are ambitious, that is for sure. They want to develop the club and the team, as we all do. I never forget my job as head coach is to develop the players that are here and then to work with the club and align the resources we have to make the decisions when transfer windows open.
“Predominantly, my job is to help the players that are here and that’s what we’ve been doing. We haven’t seen them that much, but the last few days have been positive and I need to focus on that.”
