South Carolina father David Cook made news for throwing chicken feed at a Beaufort County children’s District board meeting in protest of the district’s hesitation to act on library books he believes are improper for children. The board has now instituted a “no bag” policy.
He continued, “I’ve appealed to you all repeatedly, and only a few of you have recognized we do not need to keep sexually explicit books in our schools,” then he dumped sacks of chicken feed on the floor near the seated board members.
According to The Island News, the county Board of Education instituted a “no bag” policy at a special meeting on July 6. Cook said that the adjustment was made to eliminate the possibility of a repeat of the “chicken feed” incident.
