1. Take Vitamins and Supplements

Perhaps the most effective way to improve your digestion is by taking vitamins and supplements. But, of course, you’ll also need to incorporate healthy eating habits for these supplements to take full effect on your digestive system. Here are some vitamins and supplements you should add to your diet:

  • Probiotics
  • Glutamine
  • Zinc
  • Vitamin B
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin A

Additionally, you’ll want to add different mineral powders into your diet since many promote a healthy stomach. But, before you purchase any mineral powder, be sure to check it out thoroughly since some minerals don’t mix well with certain vitamins.

2. Take Your Time and Chew

Most people forget that digestion starts in your mouth, which means chewing is an essential aspect of your stomach health. Whenever you chew your food thoroughly, your gut has to do less work to turn the solid food into the liquid mixture. Additionally, your saliva helps begin the digestive process in your mouth by breaking down some of the carbs found in your meal.

3. Drink Lots of Water

As you already know, staying hydrated is critical for your body to function properly. On top of that, drinking at least 2 liters of water a day can reduce the chances of constipation since the water helps the stomach break down the carbs and fats of meals. Alternatively, you can eat fruits and vegetables high in water like cucumber, tomatoes, or melons.

4. Avoid Stress

Stress can cause your body to go into fight-or-flight mode, which makes the body release adrenaline. And when this occurs, your blood is diverted away from your digestive system, which causes constipation or other digestion problems. So, if you want to reduce stress, try to practice mindfulness or meditation for at least a couple of minutes a day.

5. Eat Healthy Food

Unfortunately, fast food and processed food have become abundant in recent years. And as a result, people eat foods high in refined carbs, food additives, and saturated fat, which cause severe digestion issues. Here are some foods to improve digestion:

  • Plain Yogurt
  • Spinach
  • Walnuts
  • Peaches
  • Oatmeal

Additionally, you’ll want to incorporate food high in fiber since it aids in your digestion. Of course, you can eat fast food now and then, so long as it’s not part of your main meal.
