According to a Statement released earlier by U.S. Central Command; the Arleigh Burke-Class Guided-Missile Destroyers, USS O’Kane (DDG-77) and USS Stockdale (DDG-106) were escorting 3 American-Owned and Flagged Merchant Vessels through the Gulf of Aden on November 30th and December 1st, when they were Attacked from Yemen by the Iranian-Backed, Houthi Terrorist Group.
Using their Aegis Combat System, the Destroyers were able to engage and destroy 3 Anti-Ship Ballistic Missiles, 3 Unmanned Aerial Attack Drones, and a Anti-Ship Cruise Missile; with none of the Ships or their Crews suffering an Damage or Casualties.
In a related development, the U.S. conducted Airstrikes against Iranian and Iranian-Backed Sites near the Town of al-Mayadin in Eastern Syria; with A-10C “Warthog” Close-Air Support Attack Aircraft. Significant Casualties are being reported, with Ambulances and Emergency Vehicles seen heading to several Strike Locations.
The strikes also targeted the Deir ez-Zor Governorate area, where a convoy entering from Iraq was targeted by several A-10 “Warthog” Close-Air Support Attack Aircraft of the U.S. Air Force.
Reports indicate Over 50 Iranian-Backed Militants were killed, and at least a dozen Military Trucks and Technicals were destroyed. In addition, several Iranian Sites were also targeted, resulting in the destruction of a Command Center and Barracks.
These Strikes were likely carried out in support of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), who have begun to advance into Assad Regime and Iranian-backed territory along the Euphrates River in preparation for a possible Large-Scale Offensive in Eastern Syria, similar to the one ongoing now in the West of the Country.
