Rep. Ashley Hinson says she wants to’stay organized’ in 2024.
Everyone gets a fresh start and renewed optimism at the start of a new year, and there’s sometimes no better way to channel that energy than through a New Year’s resolution.

The same is true on Capitol Hill, where several senators told Fox News Digital they had already planned their resolutions.

“My New Year’s resolution for 2024 is to stay organized,” Iowa Rep. Ashley Hinson stated in late December.

She explained that keeping her family’s home in good condition will take on extra significance given the House’s rigorous schedule in the first several months of next year, with government financing and other deadlines looming.

“I travel back and forth from Iowa pretty frequently, so it’s important for me to make sure everything is in its place at home because I have a feeling we have a pretty busy January on deck,” Hinson told the newspaper.

Representative Seth Moulton, D-Mass., told Fox News Digital that his resolve was simply “to spend more time with the people I love.”

Rep. Greg Pence, R-Texas, expressed a desire for a vacation from the turbulent legislative year Congress endured in 2023, despite a deeply split – and tight – House Republican control.

“Unity next year,” he simply stated on the Capitol steps ahead of the final House votes of 2023.

Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., focused his resolution on his loved ones, as did Moulton.

“Try to be a better husband and a better man,” Burchett stated of his 2024 ambition. “I’m quite blessed. I’ve got a cool wife and a cool daughter, so it’s kind of a package thing.”

“She’s like, crazy smart,” he said of his adolescent daughter. She has a keen sense of intuition. And she’s quite good.”

Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., told Fox News Digital that he has two resolutions: one for the country and one for his district.

“I hope everyone in my family stays healthy,” he replied when asked what his resolve was. “And then for the country, you know, hopefully, you know we get on the right track, and we keep America free.”

“Freedom is not free,” he said, “so we must fight for it every day.” As a result, my desire for this country is that it continues to be the greatest country in the world.”
