On Wednesday night, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray became the first teammates in NBA Finals history to register 30-point triple-doubles. They led their team to a 2-1 series lead over the Miami Heat as a result. Saturday is Game Four in Denver.
The duo became the first teammates in NBA Finals history to both register triple-doubles, allowing their team to retake the series lead by defeating the Miami Heat 109-94 in Game 3.
Jokic finished with 32 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists, making it the first such game in NBA Finals history, or at least since assists were documented. Murray, on the other hand, finished with 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Michael Malone, the Nuggets’ coach, could only marvel at their talent.
“By far their best performance as a duo in their seven years together,” he said in the immediate aftermath of the game, grinning.
