There are speculations linking him with a move away from Chelsea. Last season he made 22 Premier League appearances for Chelsea but was started in only 13 of those matches. His lack of playing time last season didn’t sit well with his father who doubles as his agent took to social media to blast Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
Reports in Italian earlier in the month suggested that Chelsea had included Christian Pulisic in their bid to sign Juventus defender and Dutch international Matthijs de Ligt.
However, Frank Lampard, Under whose reign as Chelsea manager that Christian Pulisic had one his best form in his Chelsea career believes Cristian Pulisic can be a key player for Chelsea going forward.
What did Frank Lampard say about Christian Pulisic?
In an interview with Pro Soccer Wire, the former Chelsea manager said: “I think Christian can still be a big player for Chelsea, of course, a really big player, but that’s absolutely a question for the club and him.
“Christian needs to play games, I know what he’s like, he wants to play all the time.
“He’s had some injuries, I think it’s sometimes held him back at different times in his career. So I just hope we get the right solution.
“I have a lot of respect for Chelsea. It’s a huge club in my life and career. So I hope we get the best solution for both.
“I’ve got a lot of time for Christian, I think I worked well with him and just tried to develop him and had a really good relationship with him.
“He’s got incredible talent. He’s a great boy. I found him really pleasurable to work with as well as a talent.
“He’s really fast and changes in direction and it’s balanced. He’s still a young player.
“It feels like he’s been around a long time because he broke through so young. So there’s still a lot to come from Christian, but those basics of speed and balance are not everyday players have. He’s special like that.”
Christian Pulisic is likely to leave Chelsea this summer amid Juventus speculation. He is currently in pre-season with Chelsea in the US.
