A woman from central Florida is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning for a pretrial hearing after her lover passed away in a suitcase in 2020. She is charged with second-degree murder.
Jorge Torres Jr., 42, was killed after being zipped into a bag and left inside for hours. Orange County authorities arrested Sarah Boone, 42 at the time of the alleged crime on February 25, 2020. According to reports, the event occurred at the couple’s Winter Park residence.
Boone allegedly told investigators that she and Torres had been playing hide-and-seek and drinking wine when, according to Boone, she walked upstairs and passed out in her bed.
She claimed she didn’t realize her partner might still be in the bag until she woke up several hours later to the sound of her phone ringing repeatedly. She claimed that when she opened the suitcase, she discovered Torres unconscious and not breathing. She then dialed 911 before deputies came and discovered Torres had passed away.
