Oddly enough, we were reading reports that Chelsea centre back Fikayo Tomori will be heading out on loan to Everton this season.
The BBC amongst many other reliable reports made claims that Everton were keen on loaning Tomori from Chelsea this season, with a few other less reliable outlets reporting a medical had even happened.
However, these reports proved to be premature and Simon Johnson of The Athletic started giving us the feeling that Tomori could still end up staying at Chelsea this season and playing an important role under Frank Lampard.
As Johnson says, the deal looks to be in the balance. But Lampard claims that he hasn’t even heard anything of any talks with Everton at all.

So is this some big Chelsea U-turn and are they about to sell one of their other centre backs and realise they need Tomori to stay now? Or are the Everton links just totally overly reported and the deal has never even been close to happening?
We shall find out soon…
