This week, Democrats in Congress opposed a legislative proposal put out by Senator Lindsey Graham to legalize abortions up to the first 15 weeks of pregnancy across the country. Some of these Democrats even went so far as to label Graham’s idea as “extreme.”
“I believe that it is a really radical concept to have the government tell a woman in the doctor’s office what decision she needs to make with her own body and health.” “It seems quite un-American to me, “remarked Representative Tim Ryan, a Democrat from Ohio who is competing for Ohio’s Senate seat. According to Ryan, this “violates freedom and personal liberty.”
Ryan referred to Graham’s measure as the “biggest governmental intrusion in the private lives of American individuals in the history of our generation.” Graham’s bill was introduced in the House of Representatives.
According to what he claimed, this is “a total about-face from the assumption that they wanted this to go to the states.” “I believe that the majority of Americans do not want the government to become involved in their personal lives, particularly when it comes to very painful and delicate issues like this.”
