Because Cuellar is a pro-choice Democrat, many members of his party have supported his opponent, who is more left-leaning. Cuellar is seeking re-election to his seat this year.
Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Democrat from Texas, now holds a lead of 281 votes over his challenger in the Democratic primary. All of the votes have been tabulated at this point in the race.
It was not feasible to predict who would emerge victorious in the race between Cuellar and Jessica Cisneros, who received support from the Justice Democrats. This sweltering heat continued for a couple more weeks. Nevertheless, after all of the ballots were tallied, Cuellar’s lead ballooned to an enormous proportion.
Cuellar asserted to The News God, “As I stated on election night, the margin will hold, and it has not only held but climbed,” about his prediction that the margin would continue to be stable after the election. Cuellar was referring to his prediction that the margin would remain stable after the election.
“I’ve won this competition by a margin of 281 votes after calculating every vote cast in all nine counties that make up the 28th district.”
