According to police, a Connecticut dad allegedly killed his two-year-old son before burying the child’s body in a garbage bag at a nearby park.
Edgar Ismalej-Gomez, 26, was detained on Tuesday for violating his probation and is likely to be charged further in relation to the death of his kid. He was on probation for a conviction related to the son’s fractured arm in July 2021, when he was eight months old. After entering a guilty plea in April, he was sentenced to 60 days in jail and three years of probation.
According to Stamford Police Chief Timothy Shaw, Liam Rivera’s body was found in a trash bag buried beneath fresh dirt on Monday at Cummings Park in Stamford, Connecticut. Charges have not yet been brought in relation to the death of the kid.
Prosecutors claim that Ismalej-Gomez has also been charged with holding the mother of the child at gunpoint recently. Before the mother could call the police on Monday, he allegedly held the mother hostage as the two were traveling to and from West Virginia.
