Police are looking for a Colorado man who shot four people, killing three and seriously injuring another, over an ongoing property line dispute.
Police have identified the suspect as Hanme K. Clark, 45, and asked residents to watch for his covered white Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck with the license plate BHLK27.
According to the department’s alert, Clark is 6’3″ tall, weighs about 200 pounds, and maybe traveling with a dark-haired woman.
“We know exactly where the suspect and vehicle are.” “We are collaborating with another law enforcement agency to apprehend them,” Custer County Sheriff Rich Smith told 11 News.
Deputies from the Custer County Sheriff’s Department received reports of a shooting at 173 Rocky Ridge Road in a wooded area about eight miles northeast of Westcliffe, about 75 miles southeast of Colorado Springs, around 1 p.m. Monday.
Due to the remote location, the first deputy of a SWAT team arrived about 25 minutes later, according to the department in a press release.
“We entered at a high risk and checked to see if there were any survivors,” Smith explained to CBS 11 News.
When police arrived on the scene, they discovered two men and a woman who had been shot. A fourth victim, a critically injured woman who is expected to survive, was reportedly airlifted to a Colorado Springs hospital.
The department told ABC Denver 7 that a surveyor was on the property line with the group when the shooting occurred, but he made a safe escape.
It isn’t something we frequently observe. First and foremost, I would like to express my sympathies to the victims’ families, Smith told 11 News.
According to the department, there had been a persistent property line dispute between Clark and one of the victims.
According to the department, Clark is armed and dangerous, and people are advised to call the police instead of approaching him.
Police are still looking for the homicide suspect, so the Salida area has been placed under a shelter-in-place order.
There will be no school buses picking up kids from the shelter-in-place area. Fox News Digital could not get in touch with the Salida School District to find out if classes were held on Tuesday.
