The cause of the victim’s death is unknown, and an investigation is being conducted.
Fox 32 Chicago was the first to report that on Thursday night, a witness called the police to report that they had discovered a human head inside a box on a sidewalk on Chicago’s West Side.
On Thursday, just before six o’clock in the evening, police were called to the 2600 block of West Taylor Street.
Chicago Police told Fox 32 that the witness informed authorities that they were on the sidewalk when they came upon a box holding the victim’s remains.
The cause of the victim’s death is unknown, according to the police, and an investigation is still underway.
There were no more details at this time.
According to Fox 32, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office also verified that it had been informed about the human remains.
