Joe Biden has lost the favor of young people in the United States.
During the duration of Biden’s presidency, Gallup conducted an analysis of its polling results, which resulted in this stunning discovery, which was made public this week.
When asked about Biden’s performance during the first six months of his presidency (from January to June 2021), on average, six out of ten adults born between 1997 and 2004 (known as Generation Z) expressed approval. This number plummeted to barely 39 percent in the period from September 2021 to March 2022, a significant decrease.
People born between 1981 and 1996, or millennials, are also experiencing a steep fall in their numbers. As of the first half of 2021, Biden has a 60 percent approval rating in that category, compared to a 41 percent approval rating more recently, according to aggregated Gallup polling.
The lack of confidence among young individuals was more pronounced than that of older age groups. During the same time period, Biden’s popularity ratings among baby boomers, those born between 1946 and 1964, fell by only 7 percentage points, according to Gallup. With “traditionalists,” or those who were born before 1946, his approval rating has stayed unchanged.
Younger Americans were substantially more positive about Biden at the start of his presidency than older Americans were at the start of his presidency. As a result, there was a bit more room for error.
Other polls have revealed that Biden’s popularity among younger Americans has declined dramatically in recent years. [pagebreak] As of this week, only 21 percent of those between the ages of 18 and 34 expressed satisfaction with the President’s performance, compared to 58 percent who expressed dissatisfaction with his performance.
In comparison, 36 percent of Americans between the ages of 35 and 49 and 35 percent of those between the ages of 50 and 64 were satisfied with Biden’s job performance. The same was said by 48 percent of those over the age of 65.
If so, what do you think is the reason for Joe Biden’s decline in favor among the nation’s youth? Because of this, it’s impossible to pin down a single explanation, but there’s no denying that there is a significant disconnect between what young people expected from the Biden administration and what they received.
