Concern was voiced on behalf of the LGBTQ community on Sunday following the arrest of more than two dozen members of a white supremacist group, including one of the group’s founders, close to a pride event in northern Idaho. The arrests took place in the area of the event.
An anonymous tip led to the arrest of 31 Patriot Front protestors in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, who was observed loading into a U-Haul in the hotel parking lot, according to police. The tip led to the arrest of the demonstrators. Thomas Rousseau, 23 years old and a resident of Grapevine in the state of Texas, has been named the founder of the organization by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
A U-Haul was stopped by officials in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and the men were taken into custody while wearing khakis, navy blue shirts, beige hats, and white balaclavas over their faces when they were taken into custody. The men were wearing these items when they were taken into custody. Lee White, the Chief of Police of Coeur d’Alene, stated that those individuals came downtown to start a riot.
Even though it’s only a minor offense, according to White, all 31 persons have been charged with it. The men, who were arrested on Saturday afternoon, will have their arraignment on Monday as planned. White claims that those arrested came from as many as 11 different states across the country.
