The death of a man discovered in Ogden is being investigated as a homicide, according to Roy police. According to Roy Police Sgt. Matthew Gwynn, the investigation began Monday when a passerby discovered the victim, Steve Bailey, 38, of Roy, in a “public area” that police have not yet revealed.
Initially, emergency crews were dispatched because the man appeared to be suffering from a medical condition. However, first responders quickly discovered the deceased man was the victim of a homicide in Roy, according to Gwynn.

The man was shot in Roy on Saturday, according to further investigation.
Daniel Johnson, 48, of Roy, was detained in connection with a murder investigation. Police have not said how Bailey and Johnson met or given any information about the shooting’s possible motive.
Three police agencies are involved in the complicated investigation, according to Gwynn.
