This critical study is one of the first to examine how COVID-19 affects people more than a few months to a year after the first attack.
According to the results of a new study that came out on Monday, people who got COVID-19 are more likely to have health problems.
The study, published in Nature Medicine, looked at the health data of nearly 140,000 U.S. soldiers exposed to COVID-19 during the pandemic. The results were compared to the tests of almost 6 million people who did not have the virus.
The team found that people with COVID-19 were at a higher risk for specific health problems even two years after getting the virus. These included particular heart and mental health problems and kidney and stomach problems.

The study shows that people who were treated with severe COVID-19 infections were more likely to have health problems down the road. People who got COVID-19 but were not admitted still had health problems that didn’t go away.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) paid for the study, mostly done with older guys. It was also only for people who got sick in 2020 before medicines were widely available and the general population could build up protection. Over the two years, the experts were also able to do follow-ups.
