A preliminary investigation led to the discovery that the girl had been abducted by her mother, even though her mother did not have custody of her.
A 3-year-old girl who had been reported missing and was thought to be in “grave danger” was found safe early on Wednesday morning, which led police in Virginia to cancel an Amber Alert that had been issued earlier in the day.
According to the Virginia State Police, an Amber Alert was issued on Tuesday for Amelia Marianna Kraus, who is the non-custodial mother of the girl who went missing. The alert was issued in the hopes of finding her.
