During a 17-minute police pursuit, Jason Karels lost control of his vehicle, went off a bridge, and crashed into a wooded area.
Authorities in Illinois have detained a man on the suspicion that he is responsible for the deaths of his three young children, all of whose bodies were discovered inside the residence in which they had been residing. The names of the youngsters who passed away have been released.
After it was discovered that Jason Karels, 35, had drowned his son Bryant, age five, his daughter Cassidy, age three, and his son Gideon, age two, he was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and given a life sentence without the possibility of parole. At that time, none of his three children had yet reached the age of six years old.
The remains found of the children were discovered on Monday at Karels’ residence, which is located in the Round Lake Beach area in the northern part of Chicago. This finding emerged as a result of the mother of the children having requested that the authorities conduct a welfare check on his house. According to the authorities, she was scheduled to pick up the children to take them to an appointment but she never did.

According to The News God, Karels is the mother’s ex-husband, and the two of them jointly shared custody of the children. This information was obtained through the police department.
