After being apprehended on Thursday, Charles Adelson, 45, faces numerous counts of first-degree murder, as well as counts of conspiracy and solicitation to commit murder.
A local law professor’s ex-husband was assassinated by a hired gunman hired by a Florida dentist to allow his sister and her children to return to their community, according to police and other officials.
Adelson, 45, was hauled into jail on Thursday and faces several accusations, including first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and solicitation to kill, as a result of his arrest. For the time being, he is being held without bond in the Broward County Jail system.
Prosecutors and investigators have long speculated that Adelson and other members of his family may have been involved on July 18, 2014, shooting the death of Daniel Markel at his Tallahassee home, which was carried out by two men. Following an acrimonious divorce, he was married to Wendi Adelson, who was unable to return to her home in South Florida because Markel had shared custody of their children following the split.
