A tweet sent out by the District Attorney of Los Angeles County, George Gascon, on Memorial Day elicited a response from Republican Representative Mike Garcia.
A Los Angeles County District Attorney’s tweet honoring Memorial Day raised the ire of Republican Congressman Mike Garcia. The post was sent by George Gascon of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
In a tweet, Gascon stated, “When I was 18 years old, I enlisted in the United States Army.” I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend and to express my gratitude to those who have served our country.
Garcia, who represents California’s 25th Congressional District, responded to the tweet by expressing his disgust with Gascon’s handling of crimes committed in Los Angeles, which is Garcia’s hometown. Garcia currently resides in Los Angeles.

“In what, exactly, do you put your faith?” Garcia, who had a prior career as a pilot in the United States Navy, offered his observations and advice in this location.”@GeorgeGascon, if that is the case, you are celebrating the incorrect holiday. In November, we celebrate Veterans Day. Remembering those who did not make it back home alive is an important part of this weekend’s activities. It is not at all difficult to do. Nobody can differentiate between different forms of violations, including crimes and other types of offenses.”
