Two Florida prison officers have been arrested for intentionally burning inmates with hot water.
Corrections officers Casey Howell and Enzo Finamore of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office are accused of misbehavior and violence, the sheriff said on Twitter on Wednesday.
During normal checks, an offender confined in a direct observation had injuries, according to Marceno. The deputy performing the inspections promptly alerted a supervisor. Three prisoners got first- and second-degree burns, according to the investigation.
It’s thought that Howell and Finamore poured hot water on the prisoners using a water dispenser. The two deputy sheriffs had been dismissed.
