You can see the gorilla chasing after the dog in some of the footage that was captured.
On Sunday, officials at the San Diego Zoo were successful in freeing a puppy that had become entangled within a gorilla’s enclosure.
According to reports, the dog, a male shepherd, came up to the fence and entered the cage on its own. According to CBS 8, guests began shouting the gorilla’s name in an attempt to divert its attention away from the puppy.
The San Diego Human Society employees responded quickly to remove the gorillas, and then they rescued the puppy.
The San Diego Humane Society said in a statement, “The gorillas were transferred as soon as zoo staff observed the dog.”
