A black bear was observed near Medford, Wisconsin, consuming birds that had been fed from a birdfeeder.
Authorities in Wisconsin claim that a couple shot and killed a black bear that attacked them on Friday night after the bear broke into their home and attacked them.
According to the statement made by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, by the time deputies arrived at the home in Medford, Oregon, shortly after 11 p.m., the husband and wife had already told them that they had used a kitchen knife to defend themselves and a gun to protect their children from the intruder.
The couple stated that they had opened a window in their home and yelled at the bear when it was eating from their bird feeder because it was outside their home.

According to the couple who were inside the house at the time, the bear did not run away when they tried to scare it away; rather, it stormed the house and smashed a window. When the bear attacked the couple inside their home, the couple suffered “several bites and injuries,” according to the report filed by the local police.
