Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha has picked his top three all-time Premier League forwards.
According to the 29 years old, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Didier Drogba are his top three Premier League forwards of all time.
The Crystal Palace forward picked Didier Drogba in the third place followed by Cristiano Ronaldo in second place and Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry in third place.
The Ivorian international had an impressive season with Crystal Palace scoring 14 goals in 33 Premier League appearances.
What did Wilfried Zaha say?
Wilfried Zaha made his choice known in an interview with Sky Sports.
Why did Wilfried Zaha pick Didier Drogba in third place: “Drogba because he was an iconic player for my country and he was a beast up front. He was a presence on the pitch and he’s very dangerous. Always felt like he could have done something at any moment on the pitch.
“He’s a player that turns up in big games and that’s what players at the top need, that’s why he was at the top for so long. He’s a very influential player and person because he’s from my country and I’ve spoken to him a few times. 100 percent I had to get a Drogba shirt, that’s a no-brainer.”
Didier Drogba made 254 appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League scoring 104 goals and providing 55 assists. The Chelsea legend won four Premier League titles with Chelsea. Didier Drogba won two Premier League Golden Boot and was the Premier League top assists provider in 2006.
On Cristiano Ronaldo as the second top Premier League forward of all time: “For me, it was just his trickery and how he enjoyed the game. Just how he developed his technique, his freekicks, it was just crazy how he improved every game, it was amazing watching him play.
“Ronaldo is different, he’s a machine, his mentality is inspirational because it just shows that if you take care of your body, how far you can go because he’s still playing in the PL which is one of the most difficult leagues in the world.”
The five times Ballon D’or winner has made 226 Premier League appearances and has scored 102 goals and provided 37 assists. Cristiano Ronaldo has won four Premier League titles and has won one Premier Golden Boot with a record of 31 goals.
Zaha on why he picked Thierry Henry as his all-time Premier League forward: “Thierry Henry was someone I looked up to massively. The main thing with him was the confidence he had, he just oozes confidence like he knew how good he was and nobody could tell him any different. He’s number one.
“The best thing about him was that he knew it, he knew that this is what I can do, I can hurt teams at any moment so seeing him on the ball and taking on 3 guys and going past them and just slotting it and the way he slotted it was like whenever anyone finished like that you’d think Henry so yeah, he was a different player.”
Henry is hailed as one of the greatest foreigners to ever play in the Premier League. The Arsenal Legend scored 175 goals and provided 74 assists in 258 Premier League appearances. The former French international won two Premier League titles and was part of the Arsenal invincible squad that won the Premier League in 2004.
Thierry Henry won four Premier League Golden Boot and one Premier top assist provider.
