Kalidou Koulibaly was born on 20th June 1991 to his Senegalese parents in Saint-Die-des-Vosges, France.
He began his career playing for SR Saint-Dies Youth Team. He spent two seasons playing for the club’s team in the Championnat de France Amateur 2 before joining Metz Club Youth Academy in 2009. He signed his first professional contract agreeing to a one-year deal in the 2010-2011 season. He made his first professional debut in 2010 in a league match against Vannes.
