There were eight after that.
Even though the 2024 UEFA Euro Championship has advanced to the quarterfinals, Sunday almost caused a stir.
With a +350 odds advantage going into their Round of 16 encounter, England was the tournament favorite.
But after falling behind Slovakia 1-0 in the 95th minute on Sunday (England was a -550 favorite going into the game), those title chances didn’t seem to be there anymore.
Ultimately, though, the two stars of the Three Lions came late. In the 95th minute, Jude Bellingham knotted the score with a bicycle kick, and little over three minutes later, in extra time, a header from Harry Kane gave England the lead that would prove to be the winning goal—2-1.
Given that France, Germany, Spain, and Portugal are on the other side of the bracket and will not face them until the championship at the absolute least, England looks to have everything set up for a deep run.
Switzerland will be England’s next opponent on Saturday, July 6, on FOX.
Additionally, France punched their route to the quarterfinals on Monday, defeating Belgium 1-0. With the victory, France’s odds increased from +650 to +450.
Portugal will be its next opponent.
During the first seventeen days of the competition, the favorites were either England or France. Having said that, Spain and England are currently tied for first place at +400.
Spain has not lost in its first four tournament games, outscoring its opponents 9-1 during that time. Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal, two young players, have been practically unstoppable.
On Friday, July 5, Spain and Germany will fight one other in a heavyweight match on FOX.
With their decisive victory against Romania on Tuesday, the Netherlands secured their place in the quarterfinals. Following the victory, the team’s title odds increased from +1100 to +700.
Let’s examine the most recent DraftKings Sportsbook odds as of July 4.

Though the Dutch are always favored to make waves and win one of these major tournaments, I believe the Oranje have a chance to make an impression this summer after almost seven months. If they place second in their group behind France, they would probably play Slovakia or Romania in the Round of 16.
Portugal is ranked as the most favorable opponent for the quarterfinals, while Germany or Spain, who has struggled in recent international competitions, might face each other in the semifinals. This Dutch team has the strength and depth to mount a serious, deep comeback, especially in the midfield and defense.
