On Sunday, Iranian officials issued a warning to the United States over the possibility of attacking two cargo ships in the Middle East that are thought to be spy ships for Iran.
Following the commencement of a bombing attack by US and UK forces against the Houthi rebels in Yemen, the warning was given.
The Behshad and Saviz ships, which are registered as commercial cargo ships with a Tehran-based business that the U.S. Treasury sanctioned as a front for the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines, were included in the Iranian statement, according to the Associated Press.
The remark seemed to indicate Tehran’s growing unease with the American strike that targeted Islamic Republic-backed forces in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq.
