One of those rescued from Lake Tahoe, California, had a significant head injury.
Authorities said a tiny, single-engine aircraft crashed into Lake Tahoe early Saturday, and the two persons on board were rescued by boats.
According to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, they received requests for assistance soon after 10 a.m. Saturday.
According to the statement, one rescued victim had a major head injury.
According to an email from the Federal Aviation Administration, the single-engine Piper PA-28 fell into the southern side of Lake Tahoe. In collaboration with the National Transportation Safety Board, the government will conduct an investigation.
The sheriff’s office did not reply promptly to a request for details.
Flight monitoring company FlightAware said the jet took off from neighboring Truckee Tahoe Airport at 9:15 a.m. It was unclear where the jet was heading or what caused the disaster.
