According to the FDNY, three children and one adult died in a house fire in the Bronx’s Castle Hill area on Sunday morning.
Around 6:00 a.m., a fire broke out on the first and second levels of the three-story building.
Two children were pronounced dead at the site, while one child and an adult died from their injuries later that morning at a local hospital. Two more victims were hospitalized for life-threatening injuries.
Merlyn Persaue, 60, a neighbor, told the New York Post that she could see the people frantically trying to flee the fire.
