Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Chelsea striker Armando Broja is not for sale after West Ham’s £ 30 million bid for the Albanian forward.
Armando Broja spends last season on loan at Southampton.
He showed a glimpse of his talents and goal-scoring prowess last season. He scored 9 goals in 38 appearances for Southampton last season.
Broja was initially left out of Chelsea’s 29 men’s squad for the US tour due to personal reasons but joined the entire squad later last week.
Thomas Tuchel has already disclosed that Armando Broja will play an important role for Chelsea coming next season. There are rumors linking with a move away from Chelsea this summer with West Ham United the club leading the race to sign the Chelsea Youngster.
However, The German international has revealed that Chelsea has no intention of letting the 20-year-old striker leave.
What did Thomas Tuchel say about Armando Broja’s Chelsea future?
Speaking to a reporter during a press conference in the US, Thoams Tuchel said: “Armando is our player first of all and we have, at the moment, no interest in selling him.
“He is here to make an impression after he was on loan in Southampton. That’s his situation from where we look up front. It’s good if there’s interest as it shows us there’s talent and potential.
“It shows us that Armando is in the position to impress and become a Chelsea player.
“When will he become a Chelsea player? Nobody knows but hopefully as soon as possible.”
Thomas Tuchel also explained the reason for delay in Armando Broja’s joining the entire team for pre-season.
The 48 year old German tactician added: “He got injured and there’s a delay for him, which is never nice because a young player should normally make an impression from the first minute in pre-season.
“Now we have a bit of a delay in that but that’s the situation.”
Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel has urged Chelsea youngsters to return from loans to emulate Trevoh Chalobah and seize their opportunity.
The German tactician continued: “He is the role model.
“He came, took his chances, he started in the Super Cup against Villarreal last season and that’s what it’s all about.
“You can discuss and make plans for all these players but they’re not worth the paper where you write them because it can change every minute and you have to simply be ready.
“All the young players and all the players who come from a loan or from different situations want to make a statement here. They’re more than invited, they’re supported, and we’re open but they’re well aware that the task is very high because the group is competitive and strong.”
Armando Broja together with other Chelsea youngsters will be seeking to impress Thomas Tuchel during the pre-season tour.
With the departure of Romelu Lukaku on loan to Inter Milan, Armando Broja may stand the chance of staying at Chelsea for next season as he is the only natural striker in the Chelsea squad.
