Features
The QPLOVE Android TV Box is a convenient device that has been designed with the user firmly in mind.
It runs on the Android 10.0 Operating System. Although this is no longer the latest OS, it’s still well purposed for Android TV. Besides streaming, users are also able to browse the internet and access thousands of android apps smoothly using Android 10.0.
This model of the QPLOVE Android TV Box comes with 1 USB 3.0 and 3 USB 2.0 ports as well as a memory card reader, giving users plenty of scope for storage additions and integrations with other devices.
As you’d expect, it’s also equipped with the latest technology for internet connection, including dual WiFi and internet, and Bluetooth. The hardware consists of a remote control that gets the job done, though it can be swapped out for a flashier alternative.
Given the price point, there are some features that you don’t get with the QPLOVE Android TV Box, such as smart home integrations or voice command controls. Nevertheless, this is still a highly functional TV box that will cover all of your non-specialist needs.
Performance
The QPLOVE Android TV Box is a confident machine fit for many different purposes. It’s powered by 4GB of RAM, which is a major improvement on 2GB RAM that you’ll find on many similarly priced TV boxes.
The improved RAM allows for gaming, high-resolution streaming, and the use of apps like Kodi. In fact, it’s powerful enough to stream in 4K, 6K, and even 3D, provided that these options are compatible with your TV.
It should be noted, however, that you won’t be able to stream Netflix in 4K. This is because Netflix only permits 4K streaming from certain licensed devices, and this tends to preclude most affordable android TV boxes.
The QPLOVE’s storage is perhaps its best selling point. With 128GB of ROM, users can download large quantities of videos, games, music, images, and other media to the device for local use. This capacity can also be boosted using USB extensions.
Also worth mentioning here is the 10.0 Operating System, which performs very dependably. It’s less buggy than the latest OS 11.0, which does boast a few additional features but these generally only apply to mobile, making OS 10.0 favorable for usage with TV boxes.
Value
Priced at just under $70 on Amazon, the latest QPLOVE Android TV box occupies the lower end of the market. And at a very affordable price, you’re getting a convenient device with impressive all-round specs.
The operating system and other features like the connectivity options and USB ports are fairly commonplace at this cost, but the QPLOVE really sets itself apart from competitors with its performance specs.
Firstly, the 4GB RAM won’t be topped at this price; you’ll be looking at spending around $150 to make the jump to 8GB. This makes for a smoother user experience compared to other TV boxes of a similar cost.
Even more impressive though, is the 128GB of storage, which is a generous amount even for mid-market and upper-tier TV boxes. 64GB ROM is the norm at this price point, so the QPLOVE’s sizable storage capacity is a big step up.
There are, of course, a couple of downsides to the price. This being the lack of access to 4K Netflix streaming that is reserved for big brands like Apple, Google, and Amazon, as well as an absence of smart features like voice control and home integrations.
Verdict
The latest QPLOVE Android TV Box is an excellent choice for streaming and gaming on your TV without having to break the bank.
A powerful 4GB worth of RAM enables you to use more demanding applications like Kodi and also minimizes buffering with other tasks. 128GB storage is an excellent addition and means that you can use the QPLOVE as the hub of your home entertainment system.
It is missing some advanced features found on many more expensive TV boxes. In most cases, though, you’d have to double the amount you’re paying to gain access to these.
In our opinion, you won’t find another TV box that can match the QPLOVE for the same price.
