The Mayor of Philadelphia, Jim Kenney, decried the “ease of access to firearms” in the aftermath of a shooting that resulted in the deaths of many persons.
Three people were killed and eleven others were injured when gunfire erupted in Philadelphia’s lively entertainment district on Sunday night. The incident resulted in the deaths of three people. The Democratic mayor of the city expressed his exasperation with what he referred to as “the availability and convenience of access to firearms.”
When Mayor Jim Kenney of Philadelphia made his statement at just past 10 a.m., there had been no arrests announced since police detectives say three gunmen opened fire on a large crowd on South Street in downtown Philadelphia just before midnight on Saturday. The incident occurred just before midnight on Saturday. The incident took place a few minutes before noon.
The Democratic candidate continued by asserting that “We cannot allow continuous violent acts as a regular and acceptable aspect of life in our community.” This came about as a response to the fact that “senselessly lost and injured in yet another horrific, brazen, and despicable act of gun violence” had taken place.
