According to officials, a child who was shot at an apartment complex on Tuesday night is recuperating in Florida.
Just before 5:30, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of a 3-year-old being shot.
According to witnesses who are familiar with the affected family, the child victim is a girl. The sheriff’s office reported that she was in her car seat when gunshots started.
“They fired while inside the vehicle before driving off.” The tires could be heard screeching as they sped directly by our apartment “Vanessa Cruz, a witness, stated, “Imagine if that were me, outside with my child, I’m just thinking. It could have been anyone’s child because many children visit this building after school just to play outside.”
Cruz thinks the young girl had a gunshot wound close to her shoulder.
The resident of the apartment complex claims that crime is prevalent in the area and that she plans to leave shortly.
The sheriff’s office has not yet disclosed the suspect’s profile or said if it has identified a likely suspect.
The young girl’s wounds are not life-threatening, and she will likely recover.
