Just hours after Sunday’s New Year’s Eve celebrations, a suspected gas explosion in Pennsylvania damaged numerous people’s homes and destroyed two of them.

Video from the scene shows that the explosion completely destroyed two homes and broke the windows of other homes nearby. According to WTXF, the explosion sent at least five people to the hospital, including a 65-year-old male with critical wounds, a 60-year-old lady with severe burns, and three others.

Assistant Fire Chief Charles Walker told WTXF, “We were very lucky from what we know now not to have a loss of life because it’s the middle of the night and everyone is sleeping.” It’s pretty rare for this much damage to happen without anyone dying, so if the gas leak is confirmed, this is a real blessing.
