Close to fifty students at Owerriman Senior Technical School in the Asante Akim North Municipality of the Ashanti Region have their West African Secondary school examination certificate withheld.
According to our sources, Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North Municipality in the person of Hon Andy Appiah Kubi promised to use portion of his MP’s Common Fund available to settle a whooping debt of GHC 21,692.000 owed by these affected students he sponsored but has failed to fulfill his promise.
The governing board of Owerriman Senior Technical has appealed to Hon Andy Appiah Kubi to honour his promise.
Portions of the letter read “I humbly write to remind you students who are from Asante Akim North District precisely Owerriman Senior Technical School who have not yet made a full of school fees but completed the school. …I would be grateful if you could help settle their bills as promised”
However, the member of Parliament could not be reached for his comment on the matter.
