On Monday, the Chicago Police Department said that 23 shootings took place throughout the city during the weekend, resulting in 31 people being hurt and 7 individuals losing their lives.
The Chicago Police Department (CPD) reports that there were about twenty-two shootings that took place between six o’clock in the evening on Friday and eleven minutes and fifty-nine seconds after midnight on Sunday. In total, six people were killed as a result of the shooting, and one person was killed as a result of the stabbing.
According to the data provided by the police, the ages of two of the victims who were shot remain unknown. It is thought that the ages of the 31 persons who were shot ranged anywhere from 17 to 61 years old.
During a domestic altercation that took place on West Walton Street close to North Homan Avenue, a lady in her twenties suffered many stab wounds. This is according to the police and other sources. On Sunday, just before 6 p.m., police officers arrived at the location to begin their investigation.
The woman was transported to a neighboring hospital, where a medical examiner confirmed that she had passed away. The police are currently interrogating a person of interest, but no charges have been brought against them at this time.
