The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress has rubbished rumors going round on various social media platforms about a photo of him in a huge suit beside former President, Jerry John Rawlings at a public event during the revolution era.
A photograph circulating on social media for some years now shows an image of His Excellency, Jerry John Rawlings and a man believed to be Asiedu Nketia who was the translator for the former head of state.
But in a new twist, Mr Asiedu Nketia has indicated that he is not the one and claims the man beside President Jerry John Rawlings was an information officer then in the Brong Ahafo area and would be shocked if he wasn’t late.
“Anyone who looks at that image critically will see that the man on it is older than me. He was an information officer at Sunyani Regional Office and as at that time, I was not someone who could even get closer to the former President. It was during the early part of the revolution”, he said.

According to General Mosquito as he is affectionately called, said, during the revolution era he was a mere member of the Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC) and was not Previlege enough to meet with the leader of the party and is shocked as to why people are tagging him to be the one beside the leader of the PNDC at a public event.
He believes some people within NDC are carefully tagging him to be the one in the photo in order to bring division in the party because he is not in good terms with the founder of the Party.
“They first started by putting out headlines that I referred to him as a barking dog but when that failed they started putting out such images that I was his interpreter and after that he realized that I was good at politics thereby introducing me into politics”, he said.
