Director of the Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle now claims that security at the former president Trump event in Pennsylvania was “solely responsible” for her organization.
Director of the Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle seemed to resign her position on Tuesday after local law enforcement and her organization traded accusations over the security breach at the event held by former President Trump in Pennsylvania.
In an interview with CNN, Cheatle stated that the Secret Service was “solely responsible” for security at Trump’s event, following which 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to scale a neighboring structure and shoot Trump with a gun. During the attempted assassination on Saturday, one spectator was murdered and the Republican candidate and two others were injured.
Despite the fact that other events in the state required Secret Service security, she told CNN that no resources from the rally were moved on the day President Trump was shot.
