“I want people to comprehend the purpose of this troop mobilization,” Kennedy tweeted.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Democratic presidential candidate, stated that President Biden’s mobilization of troops to support Operation Atlantic Resolve was preparation for a “ground war with Russia.”
Kennedy responded to Vice President Biden’s decision to deploy thousands of military reservists to Europe as part of the 2014 operation.
Kennedy tweeted on Friday, “President Biden has just called up 3,000 reservists to bolster U.S. troops in Europe as part of ‘Operation Atlantic Resolve.'”
“I want people to comprehend the purpose of this troop mobilization,” he continued. It involves preparations for a ground conflict with Russia.
Biden announced on Thursday that his administration is mobilizing reserve forces to assure the “effective conduct of Operation Atlantic Resolve in and around United States European Command’s area of responsibility.”
No more than 450 members of the Individual Ready Reserve will be mobilized.
While the president is out of the country for the NATO summit, Vice President Biden has increased the army’s size.
“This is reckless and dangerous,” tweeted Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz. “I want to see Putin defeated, but UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should U.S. servicemen [and] women be sent to fight in Ukraine.”
Cruz added, “Biden’s weakness started this war, and now he’s threatening to start a shooting war with Russia.”
Sen. Mike Lee of Utah, a member of the Republican Party, weighed in on the president’s European mobilization via Twitter, warning that the move is “daring Russia to shoot first.”
“I’ve been attempting to determine what this signifies. President Biden is arguably bringing the United States to the brink of conflict and defying Russia to fire first,” Lee wrote.
